Our Story

Chabad Chai - South Tampa was established in 2008 to serve the Jewish community of South Tampa. Chabad Chai - South Tampa is a place where everyone is welcome, regardless of affiliation or prior level of knowledge. Its sole purpose is to create a warm, welcoming environment to explore and experience Judaism's warm and relevant spiritual inspirations in a non-judgmental and inviting atmosphere.

Meet Rabbi Mendy & Dina Dubrowski

Rabbi Mendy was born in Brooklyn, and moved to Tampa with his parents Rabbi Yossie and Sulha Dubrowski, only three weeks later. Raised in Tampa, he studied at the Hebrew Academy till high school, after which he left to study in Detroit and Paris. He concluded his Rabbinic Ordination in Brooklyn, and spent one year in Buenos Aires, Argentina as a rabbinic intern. He has conducted youth and teen programming in Ukraine, California, and Israel where he worked with the famed Birthright program. He speaks 5 languages including French, Yiddish, Spanish and Hebrew. Mendy believes communication is his greatest tool, assisting people in their relationship with their spirituality, and helping people connect with each other.

Nechama Dina Dubrowski was born and raised in Brooklyn where she studied at the Beth Rivkah Academy, a school specializing in Developing future educators. Dina spent her summers canvassing the globe in assistance of the local Jewish communities. Her travels have taken her to France, Italy, Switzerland, California, Prague, Ukraine, Israel, and Connecticut. She concluded her studies at the Machon Shoshana Seminary in Jerusalem where she lived for one year. For the past 4 years she has been working as an early childhood education expert at CELC in the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Dina enjoys art, cooking, and fashion, and has a special knack for hands-on creations. Dina looks forward to bringing her creativity and sensitivity to the bay area.
